Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

How many people were let go?

Why all the secrecy? As if we don’t know who we’re working for, how little they care about us, and how easily leadership throws us under the bus.

The big layoff is absolutely happening in April with many reorgs to follow those layoffs. This has been confirmed by various dept heads. It is across the board ESI, EVN, Cigna, Accredo.

I know of a team has only 1 person from h1h. However 2/3 of that team are in India from different Indian consulting companies. So even if they are not from h1h, this company definitely prefers the cheap labor choice present in offshore.

If the co, was interested in investing long term in its companies then it would not have this many contractors. It’s like a house of straw that can collapse anytime and be gone. Contractors are easily gotten rid of and will not be considered as a “layoff” as warm act wouldn’t be triggered.

No, it’s staying the same because it’s not a mass layoff. The HIH hysteria is also out of control too. How big do you think this building in Hyderabad is?! You all act like it’s a stadium with unlimited seating for every employee in the company to be replaced, stop the fear mongering

Maybe the employee count isn't changing because they are laying off domestic workers and quickly replacing them with offshore resources.

Yup, all contractors in my area were eliminated this week.

After the IT budgets are finalized, they might start backfilling from the HIH slop shop.

“They still haven’t finalized departmental budget cuts in IT. There were meetings on it this week but probably another week out before numbers are finalized. Then need to determine the cuts from there. April is a more realistic timeline.”

So this is for everyone under Noelle Eder? Sounds like a huge cut. I heard contractors cut was done on the first week of march.

People were let go today. I was one of them but I already had another job. The sad part they wanted to work the rest of my time and do a knowledge transfer. I said peace out

Of course they were postponed until April…then in April you will come in with sprinkles of examples instead of anything substantial with “I know a person or two and it’s postponed until may” Fact is there have been 71,000 employees every month this year, and looking today there still are. This is just hysteria, there are no mass layoffs

“To the others: I heard from a manager in my area (Evernorth) that they are trying to recoup 250 million dollars..“

I heard the same from a leader. Also, big re-orgs were postponed to April.

Yes there were cuts yesterday so stop saying there weren't, @ab+1jpatf9tw.

To the others: I heard from a manager in my area (Evernorth) that they are trying to recoup 250 million dollars. slow blink I didn't get to ask if that was Cigna wide, just Evernorth or what.

I don’t think anyone got laid off yesterday, just chicken little sky is falling. “Not saying anything to get a severance” theory doesn’t work because other still employed departments will be informed and/or will easily notice if you were layed off or not…and everyone is still here.
