For those laid off on 4/30, last day 5/14 was your final check smaller than usually? I believe they don’t pay for the final day so we received 72 hours instead of 80. Is this the case for other folks as well?

@af I had 70+ PTO DAYS LEFT. My check stub show 72hrs as opposed to 80 and I was salary.
If your final day is Thursday they do not pay you for Friday.
My final day was Friday 2/6/2026. I worked a full week and was paid for it. My severance agreement paid me for up to 40 hours of unused PTO. But because PTO rules require an employee to still be employed at the beginning of the NEXT pay period, I was denied PTO for my final 2 weeks. Just another slap in the face from the Company.
@ag I was RIFd. My final day was a Friday.
They pay for the final day. Your final day is usually a Thrusday so you do not get paid for Friday since your seperation day is Thursday. So 72 hrs would make sense.
@OP They pay for every day, including your final day, SOMETIMES it will be smaller if you took more PTO that you had accrued up to that point. That's VERY common early in the year.
