@OP
13K in 4Q25 + 7K in 1Q26 that is 20K employees let go to give Hans his $20M, sounds about right
@bx EMEA is huge and the regulations are not consistent amongst each other. as @bw+1kkj65t42 said it is a very long process that requires negotiations. then there's the social plans to consider. are you in the UK or Switzerland? these are the only countries I could think of that could potentially have significantly different regulations due to them not being in the EU.
@bw I got told by my manager yesterday that next Thursday we will be told I’m in EMEA so what should I watch out for when talking to HR
In many if not all EU countries Verizon would first need to notify a local labour office like 30 days ahead of any move HR makes. HR would like you to believe that the recent AHC was a such notification but that's simply not true
The EWC directive has been recently updated and is more strict, especially re transnational reorganizations as some exceptions were removed
HR can try to bypass it by offering mutual agreements but that won't fly high if EU employees are aware of their rights
You should have zero trust for the European HR mob as they made it cynically clear during the AHC open mic
Re GN&T, in some smaller? countries there are contractors so those wouldn't technically layoffs so such positions are exposed and unprotected
@bt the OPs date of March 26th is above and beyond what's happening in EMEA?
Thanks for the clarification, that's worrying!!!
This is US
@bm I heard of Hungary but second hand so you may be right.
For example people say the call was "being put at risk of redundancy" where this really only starts in-country when it is formally notified so it is easy to misinterpret
It’s next Thursday the 19th got it confirmed. Im in a EMEA country.
@bk I'm in EMEA, which country? labour laws in EMEA along with works councils and trade unions make it impossible to "close a country" overnight, short of bankruptcy. this process will continue into Q2.
@bj months? I've heard of at least one entire country being closed last night, all redundant. It was a small one so I expect within the week many small ones will follow. Then just big ones (Germany, UK, France) to address.
@ag is getting wrecked in EMEA, huge layoffs expected in a few months per announcement on Wednesday.
@a9 frontier management employees can be laid off
That will be towards the end of first quarter.
Expect more 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc…
Absolutely nothing in GN&T being discussed at all.
Off payroll 4/23?
Anyone could post that HR says the 26th. Lets how many support the rumor.
This just made my day
@a4 I thought I heard Frontier employees are safe? Wasn’t it a condition of the acquisition that they would not get laid off?
God save us #frontier
@a4 🤣🤣🤣. Woooops. All of us are at risk. Frontier or not frontier
