Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

T-Mobile layoffs

It looks like T-Mobile is also laying people off. Impacting managers and directors rather than ICs from what I can gather online but I have no direct knowledge.

It’s likely that the new CEOs at VZ and TMUS are engaged in a price war hence the cost cutting.

That is too bad. They certainly don't deserve layoffs like our stores do. Their store people are friendly, not arrogant and actually sell you what is needed not the latest push from VZ'S grifters.

@b7 exactly. from the customer's POV, it doesn't matter. And that's the only POV that matters.

@b5. built, bought...it doesn't matter. They are positioned better. Their layoffs are SMB related which was never true revenue generator. You dont need extra headcount to come in when Joe's plumbing needs 8 lines.

@b5 tmobile didn't build anything, they bought. If verizon cut plan cost tmobile would be hurting since they dont make much per customer

TMO Built a network that can survive the migration to lower overhead. Hans allowed ours to be destroyed over 8 years. You can't cut and correct those mistakes. The future is very bleak for VZ

I dont know about their layoffs but I downloaded the TMO app and am test driving their network for free, for 30 days. You can see the signal you receive on both networks and can toggle between them. So far I have not reverted to VZ network as TMO is blowing VZ out of the water with coverage and speed. My family is now doing the same. Can't wait to join the 500,000 customers VZ will lose this year.

@ag True but T-Mobile’s layoffs are more relevant to this forum than say Meta’s or Amazon’s.
