WSJ: Ford Considers Scrapping Electric Version of F-150 Truck

“Once hyped as a ‘smartphone that can tow,’ production of the money-losing EV pickup may be shut down for good.”

May be shut down…should have never been produced.

Ford finally did the right thing by shutting down the F150 Lightning. It's long over due.

The new Electric F150 to be built at Tennessee site is still on as a 29 model year.
The one produced in Dearborn will be discontinued.

Last quarter praised; this quarter promoted and/or pushed aside. Silly a-s product in the first place. Costs and targets were always off point.

Let the smart phone be a smart phone. It amazes me how every car company is trying to replace the smart phone with their Infotainment system. Why? No one wants this, but yet they continue to bloat the system and leave themselves open to quality issues. No pun intended, but stay in your lane. Concentrate on building a car the way it supposed to work and devote your engineers effort to keeping the piece of $hit out out of the repair bay. No one wants your bloated software. They want a vehicle they can afford that they don't have to repair or recall 5 times a year at a minimum. Snap out of it. The beatings will continue until someone at the top gets a clue. Engineers always seem to be the ones paying the price though. Don't expect it to be any different this year or next.

When Ford build the F150 Lightning Ford loses $60k. They tried to sell it with the A Plan and no one want to buy it. Why keep on making something that people don't want, it's a money losing business. Shut it down.

Only my smartphone can top up on a charge just about anywhere in about an hour 0-100% and an electric truck really isn't great at towing things more than a short distance..

Major programs are approved at the top of company. Think of how many leaders reviewed this and said yes. Hopefully it’s on their performance evaluation and they can be better embody the Ford+ Behaviors going forward

Billy let his personal beliefs and values get the better of him. He bought into the global warming scam and wasted billions on a program the marketing people said was not a winner. If he wasn’t a Ford he would be out of a job by now.

So, who was terminated for proposing an electric F150? I'd at least sue them for the re-imbursement of all associated losses. Was that you Brilliant Bill?
