@ac Sidelined? LE is the boss. The two CEOs are the hired help to run the day to day operations.
@ag it's not about replacement, they just cannibalize existing services and products (including slashing expenses) to keep pushing AI bet, so stonk line goes up. This company is run by accountants who only care about stock price going up for the next quarter, or current financial year. they have no capacity of long-term planning and fallback plan what happens after AI bubble bursts (same as Internet bubble burst in 90s).

I really don’t understand their compulsive massive laying off employees and hoping that AI will be running with full-scale operations. They might get burned with it as there are many errors and limitations of artifical intelligence, so people who switch to it should use it very carefully instead of putting all eggs in one basket.
Larry (and Safra) appear to have already been sidelined by Clay and lost control of the company. Clay/OCI is dismantling the incredible Database/App/On-Prem business Larry built, instead electing to take on mass debt and gamble the house on OCI datacenters.
