All Florida Clinics were told ten minutes ago that all employees must attend a business update meeting at noon today. Any info on what’s happening?

I’ve been moved to the new company post-buyout, but seeing the layoffs elsewhere has me worried. Is this transition a positive signal of being considered 'essential' or is this just a temporary step before further cuts are made as they consolidate? Struggling with not knowing if being 'told' I was being 'moved' was a good thing or a sign to start looking.
@10k the way it has been presented, the “new company” (doesn’t have a name yet and still running under WellMed and Optum owned clinics) is now considered contracted in Florida. They are in a transition period and so by this time next year the company will be fully formed and with a new name and just acting independently. Membership to my understanding stays with the clinics under the new org but still remain in a WellMed/optum contract for those lines of business

@xn have they said what this does to the membership? Are just the clinics being sold? Are WellMed and Optum still managing the membership risk or are those leaving the business too?

@ew Florida leadership said information was being relayed through Optum and Wellmed. There’s a new share point for this new company. We are attending town halls weekly for updates on progress.

Probably a new “shell” company that will be one of the 1000’s of subsidiaries UHG owns. Just another way this company escapes accountability and keeps doing their evil cr-p in the healthcare system.

@af they were bought out by TPG investment group which has Kelsey Seybold as one of their healthcare branches.
All Optum and Wellmed clinics in Florida were bought by a third party investment group. No name yet for new company that will own us when purchase is finalized.

Optum Florida bought out by new company. Name of company yet to be disclosed. New CEO, New CFO. Lots of changes in the coming months.
@a4 call advised organizational changes to be independent, sounds like Florida will be under new management and has new CEO
