I can confirm with 100% certainty that my department has layoffs tomorrow. 8 people are being eliminated. Not sure what other areas are doing but people will be impacted 1/29.

How large was/is your department?
@a6 and David Cordani and Brian Evanko legit said it in a town hall in front of the whole company. This should not come as a shock for anyone.
Only question is how bad will it be?

I feel so bad for any on the JE list. With the announcement of 16k Amazon corporate positions (for a total of 30k since last year) flooding the market that is already flooded, it's going to be really tough.

If it's anything last April's layoffs, they'll have a generic webex for everyone affected to join instead of a 1 on 1 meeting with your manager.
This does stink and they are fooling with our livelihoods…. Families…
@ae Band 6 are the ones who need to be eliminated! Ki-ling the company with theor cronies! Good ol boys clubs abound.
@ac band 6 and above were the decision makers, but some leadership below that have been informed. I know for a fact.
There are also situations where band 5 and below leaders that were not part of the decision at all and have not been informed, will receive their notification on who from their team is impacted at the same time as the employee and/or team tomorrow.
@OP thank you for sharing. From above replies and responses, there are 8 layoffs out of 100 people. Do you mind sharing numbers of positions that are going unfilled and VRPs in your department also? Since there are 100 people, this is just under 1% gone through JEs. Looking for a %.
I am going to have a tough time sleeping.
