It’s purely cost reduction. That’s why we’ve been losing so many veterans, experienced, and competent people. It’s always about the bottom line. It has nothing to do with dedication, creativity, resourcefulness, or hard work. Being a valuable contributor has become more of a burden than an advantage. Quality comes with a high price tag.

@b6 I would lose my dignity if it meant keeping my job.
@b3 I think if ag agrees to limit pto days and stock the pantry with milk on a daily basis it could go a big way toward saving job
@ag if you truly think this makes anything remotely resembling a difference to higher ups, you have bigger problems than potentially losing your job.
Were names submitted today?
@am Today is the day? Many managers don't even get told anything about having to make a list or even the existence of any list.
i think the names are in already ..
re: talking to manager
@a6 Would this even work?
@ag You'll find a better job, have faith in yourself.
@af I calculated the budget and I could get by with a $15k pay cut if I bring lunch everyday and cut my gym membership.
@a6 maybe you can agree to be an unpaid intern while you're at it.
have some self respect, man. i have no idea what type of pay cut you have in mind but it's not enough to save your job. they are looking to cut your entire salary, $10k or whatever is not going to make a difference.
@a7 I think that's going to play a big part yes, unless the employee is able to relocate, I'm sure they're going to close most off the offices. Sounds as though they only want employees based in NY and LA. I think they'll do the same for International too, close most of the EU offices, keep London, probabaly Amsterdam, perhaps Berlin. I'm only speculating of course.
Do you think they are looking at location when making the decision?
I’m thinking of going to my manager and asking to be paid less to safeguard myself.
