Have you not been paying attention? Half of all branches are scheduled to close in the next few years. Investing, bank customer service and others are all being moved to virtual solutions. There is going to be less brick and mortar everything very soon. WF knows the future is digital for nearly everything. Anyone who can’t see that writing on the wall should just retire - your frame of thought is outdated.

WF technology is a joke. You’re all forgetting that WF is a brick and mortar company. Technology is an afterthought just to keep up with the Joneses. My word, the godmother of our CRM system is still Hogan from the 1970s. Our whole system was designed around Ma and Pa Kettle being our clientele.
@2egn+1io4eBUG My second best day was when she left EFT my first was when I left WF. What a miserable place full of miserable “leaders”.
@2egn+1io4eBUG Will be amazed if this post stands. Another post on 8/25 said essentially the same and is gone. It’s all about who runs where the cuts are. They are only concerned with themself and do not care if the org is understaffed and overworked.
Hey look after 3yrs at WF TK the cheerleader won an ORBIE!! What a joke. Was never recognized for anything at previous roles and for cheerleading and being female she had execs nominate and push her selection. Is WF that desperate? She only cares about herself and her next rung on a ladder.
In process of moving all my accts from WF to a local credit union
At least it helps keep local people employed and they aren't funded by Blackrock It's a pain but worth it WF doesn't care about customers cuz I'm a customer and I got laid off
Oh look, another guy that thinks businesses pay taxes. Hate the burst the bubble, but those taxes are paid by YOU, the consumer. So you're arguing for more taxes on yourself. If that's what you believe is right, cool. Get out your check book whenever you're ready.
What LOBs were affected yesterday?
Rumor heard - severance will move to LOB expense in 2023. Expect many more purges and re-org's before end of year. Re-Orgs push you into another organization as a possible target for release. Expect severance packages to be less generous in 2023 due to being a LOB expense.
@1yqf. The only difference is this recession is totally corporate driven because their welfare giveaway was taken away from them.
Corporate America is like the mob. Follow the money.
@1yqf+1io4eBUG
Yes - caused by CRE bubbles popping in a big way.
@aea+1io4eBUG meanwhile, she's on LI constantly cheer leading.
In her prior role she had some of the strangest and less than stellar leaders while dumping any "legacy" people that had been around a while.
jdf+1io4eBUG, what you've described is a recession coming, and you're right in your description, but it's nothing to get excited about. A recession can mean no work, and that includes remote.
Fortunately, being let go, affords me the spare time to start moving all my wf accounts somewhere else. the lack of ability to track things internally has caused me some concern, so better safe to transfer now.
in retrospect, I was such a wf wh--e. eight is great!
@jdf You just described what is basically the definition of a recession.
@1ysc+1io4eBUG At least in my area that is the word from someone very high up. It may be different for other teams.
The problem with Wells Fargo is they do not care about their employees or customers. They project a web of propaganda that attempts to hide the deception and unethical behavior of the executives that are destroying this company from within.
Our entire team ( 1 BA, 2 Java devs) gone.
Team members based in East and Phx locations
Wf had lay off in August 2021 also
@1lch+1io4eBUG Not true at all. September and October will also be substantial. November and December will be quiet not to bring extra derision about laying people off to avoid the 401k match - this year.
At least 500 people zz’d out today across the board in Active Directory. This is supposed to be the extent of layoffs for the rest of the year though.
OH HE-L NO I KNOW THEY DIDNT
I heard Tech is affected.
...I'm sure they thinking theyve told the managers if things aren't being done, and you need more 'bodies', they can point to India...
@qgx+1io4eBUG
That's what Frederick site said.
Lol DSM isn't going anywhere. There will always be a big presence here
@dyo+1io4eBUG
CRE in general is going to be a gigantic black ho-e of debt by March of next year. Business is changing and companies that hire remotely will be the ones who thrive. The medium/small business that vacated sites won't be spinning those back up again. Restaurants in city centers will continue to close as they relied on the steady lunch rush and if it's not packed it's not profitable. That hurts the other businesses like cleaning services, HVAC, Electricians, contract computer support, etc. All of those will be hurt and will increase the odds of them closing as well. It ripples out from there.
By the time they are done, the commercial real estate in DSM will also be eliminated. The sad news is that the DSM market is small as it is. Get out while you can.
Forgot to add that’s why Inleft that sh!tshow two years ago. I saw it coming.
I'm already regretting when I search "zz." tomorrow morning.
The failed Chase management they brought in must be trying to hit that 80% offshore model they have there overnight.
So basically they will sc--w up WF like they did Chase.
I’m sure the WF BOD is so proud they made that move to bring Chuckles and his failed management team in.
Hope it impacted a couple of the nasty leaders that need to be gone...ct has some of the ugliest leadership I've seen out there. I am sure everyone knows who...
We're so short developers in CLT, what in the world are they thinking? More work on the already overloaded backs of those who remain. Wells is being driven into the ground! We definitely had room for improvement before, don't get me wrong, but laying people off while increasing the amount of work, and making processes more convoluted is not the solution.
Everyone who was released today, I truly hope that you land someplace better, that values your talents, and gives you a better work/like balance
~25 scrum masters, ~8 developers, 2-3 tech managers in my area alone. The devs really surprised me. They had been moving devs to other areas for months since they are so many open dev positions.
