That's not true. I came from another top tier bank, raises were the same. They even tried to sc--w us over in 2020, COVID and all that, proposed ZERO raise, but everyone got angry so they came back with 2 pct raise for everyone. Turned out times were not that tough 😂

New to Citi but I can tell you that Citi is by far the cheapest company for its size. Let me say that again, by far the cheapest.

They give you a 2% raise and celebrate like they did something big. My initial thought is “wow….if things are going that bad for this company, just go ahead and keep that 2% to help keep the lights on we must be on the cusp of selling out.” Then I remember the history of JF raises and bonus’s.

Yeah, I’m trying hard to go back to where I came from. The way they do things is about the same but the rewards are far greater for the work given.

Question, not specifically to you, if not to all readers, relates to the topic of the thread.

I was employee of Citi Europe for 2 years, my ratings were 2-2 and 2-3.

I receive a merit salary increase of 2% and 1.3% respectively. Both years same bonus, 3200 USD approx in local currency. IT department. AVP.

Was It a fair salary rise or I was scammed?, I discussed It with other colleagues of the office and most of them told me It was peanuts and I should have plain rejected It and raise a complaint to HR. One former colleague from India told me that bonus was low for Indian standards, so It should be super low for Europe (btw I didn't raise a complaint, decided to leave Citi).

Depends on your role, where you fall within your salary range, location, C-level, segment, etc. I've seen flat 3s get a merit increase and 2/3s get no increase.

Yes with a 3 rating you are eligible for salary increase and bonus. Merit is an automatic calculation based on rating, ranking, where you are in your salary range and geography. Expect 1-4% increase. Bonus is a pool for each group, that pool is divided based on c level, rating and ranking against your peers. Usually pretty equal but managers can shift amounts around - rob Peter to pay Paul.
