PIP isn't about improvement. Performance improvement plans aren't for helping you. They're either to save money or get revenge. That's all. If you are on PIP, don't expect to still be employed once it's done.

I was piped for revenge. I had too many haters and did not kiss a.
a pip is just legal cover
whatever 'legal' means nowadays
@b1 When they PIPed you they want you out sooner or later. Even if they let you pass this time you are always their target
that's not true. near retirement eligible people get pip all the time because they cant get fired due to pip. so managers use them to pad the bottom of their forced rankings. thats why vorporate changed the rules recently that 2 pips in 5 years = fired.
The majority take the PIL. I know a few finished their PIP assignments well before the deadline, also delivered multiple presentations and documented their work thoroughly. Despite this, they were still terminated.
@ad, I personally know of at least a dozen that went through the PIP program here in Clinton in the last few years that were still let go.
I don’t know a single employee who entered into the PIP and was fired.
That’s a bit extreme.
Would be nice if some LT would stand up this junk.
