I panicked at first, but now, with some time to really assess my situation, it almost feels like a blessing. I wasn’t planning on leaving, but I was so unhappy that having them make that decision for me actually did me a favor. I’m still looking for something new, but I have a few interviews lined up, and even without a secured job, I’m happier than I was at Optum. Go figure.

“ am included on the next set of layoffs this month. Any recommendations for those who have already been laid off already? Someone mentioned printing out my previous reviews but was hoping someone could give some additional advice, especially for those supporting their families.”
Just focus on applying to jobs all day long. Do not respond to “anyone free to do XYZ.”
You can print past reviews but I am not sure exactly what value that would have. I have never attached performance reviews to a job application. Especially as most reviews have to include your negative qualities (no matter how small). Absolutely no reason to offer that information up.

Someone mentioned printing out my previous reviews but was hoping someone could give some additional advice, especially for those supporting their families. I hope the new leadership eventually realizes our VP is not fit for his job and should be monitored by HR with his current actions.
"I don't belive you! I bet you were let go 18 months ago."
I bet you never worked at Optum and are paid to troll this board. Do us all a favor and go play in traffic.
@ad - who cares, the OP was giving their opinion. At least he’s wasn’t fired for ethics and other performance issues like you were Nico!
I am always surprised at those who claim to be soooo happy at UHG/Optum. Why do you check this site. Don’t you have better things to do like “Help people live a healthier life.” Get you numbers up no matter what the cost , improve your customer service skills, get ready for your next toxic one on one, get ready for that mediocre raise and basically make a new pitcher of kool aide for the day.
I have only been laid off once but it was the best thing to happen in retrospect. Stuck grinding in sh---y small company with a candle of “partnership” at the end of the tunnel.
I applied to jobs I’d never have even imagined doing before having nothing to do but think about and apply to jobs all day.
IMHO you will walk away better off than any of your peers who keep their jobs.
