Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

EH Email - End of Year Update

Sounds pretty ominous. Thoughts as to what's in the works? Some snippets -

"I wanted to give you a heads-up about an important plan to evolve how our teams are organized. The approach is that cross-functional teams across Jordan, Nike, and Converse will be aligned to lead with sport."
...

"Expect that many of our teammates will experience changes to their teams or role. While we may say goodbye to some teammates, as teams begin to take shape over the next few months, we're also making investments in new roles that create a strong connection to the consumer and to sport."

Also, PSP = 54%

Pro-tip: If your role is eliminated but there’s a similar role currently open for which you qualify on paper the company is supposed to offer it to you. If they don’t, you have grounds for a legal complaint— even more so if you are a member of a protected class (woman, over 40, POC, etc). Questions? Just track down LT in employment legal.

@b5

Same here as well. As soon as the talent cards/profile in Workday became available, I had mine fully filled out. I also had nothing but HS and Exceptional ratings. None of this mattered as I was riffed - even as numerous similar roles as mine were still being advertised as open on the Nike job board.

Overall, I was just disappointed at first, and resigned to moving on. However, I've really become angry as I've learned of all my fellow former co-workers that were also let go. These were truly exceptional people who were awesome at their jobs and loved Nike. If that's not the kind of people the company wants to keep, this place is doomed. And it's further cemented the idea to me that I'll never go back. If all the good people are gone, what's left?

@ay+1jypyenft Same. RIFfed with a complete talent card and only highly successful and exceptional ratings the past 5 years. Doesn't matter.

@ad didn’t matter for me. Still RIFd 2 weeks ago with a complete workday profile.

It’s a rebound if you get to stick around the berm. Stock will be higher next few days, good opportunity to buy.

Waiting for my options price point of $105.

I have been saying for months the next layoffs would be announced by October. Congrats to EH for exceeding my expectations there, I guess.
