Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The Basement and the Boardroom . . . Jamie Dimon Says Remote Work Ruins Young Workers. The Data Says the Problem Is Something Else Entirely.

This is why we know RTO is about getting rid of employees without paying them severance.

Stankey is mostly just incompetent. Dimon is truly a monster. Pure evil.

@ac

Why is RTO the only century-old tradition that you constantly regurgitate? If it was so wonderful back then, let's roll everything back to 1926.

RTO is due to the “Male Loneliness Epidemic.” Go on, Google it. It’s a real thing that is now being used to justify RTO, and caused by the pandemic. Good grief. What will be the next thing we hear about? Looking back on how some of the CEOs behave I can kind of see this one being a real reason over the real estate crisis.

It's really about balance. Many companies have been able to achieve this balance. Frankly, AT&T had a good balance. What AT&T is doing now is pushing good workers out the door so they can have the old-timey face-to-face back. They think one size should fit all. Frankly, that is going to keep good talent away. And with the draconian presence report mess, who would want to work at AT&T anyway? If I was young and knew they had presence reports, I either would not apply or if I found out in the interview process, I'd end the interview stating that I am a professional not a child, and walk out. This company is bent on not retaining good people in the name of geography (making up all kinds of wild reasons for doing what they are doing) AND not attracting top talent. It's just do very destructive.

"Just work in the office as has been done for a century."

Most companies evolved into a more efficient work structure. I was hired by AT&T as a hybrid employee. Most workers alive today have worked a hybrid or remote schedule than have worked a 5x8 office schedule.

"WFH has too many distractions."

Yeah, my private office at home where I can close the door so no one bothers me verses sitting at 3x5 table in a bullpen and I can reach out and touch 4 people if I stretch my arms out. GTFO you boot licking Stank sycophant.
