Of course it’s impacted, just like every single other org.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.....
Message at management level is AI should 10x every engineer. Just imagine how much they think they can cull. Oracle shrinking its workforce in 26/27 is a given. When you will be cut is TBD until you can automate your job. IMO Twitter like cull is coming for not only Oracle but most tech companies. The belief the executives have is with AI they need fewer people overall. Shutdown of sites and/or major reductions will be part of this regardless of country you work in.

AI right now is powerful and capable of doing many tasks that many roles perform for lower cost than humans. Low cost centers will not be spared, they will also get big culls. I work with many IC4, IC5, IC6 engineers and they share they same sentiment (amazement of what AI is capable today) and many privately share they are scared . I am still optimistic that new jobs will be created from AI. What they are? I don't know.

Industry wide at this point companies the perception for executives I sense is that they will need less bodies to run businesses and those who survive will be a mix of domain expert/product manager/software architect/solution implementor. Rest and vest days with high pay after passing Leetcode interviews are over. This skillset is very rare and likely these multi-talented unicorns will be sought out and still get the big bucks.

To end this with a positive plan of action - embrace the change and make use of Oracle's AI tools. See what pivot/changes are possible to remain employed, working to support ourselves and families. Praying for and wishing all of us better days ahead.

NetSuite will be hit hard - I'm hearing CS and engineering.

  • If you're not using your tokens, you're gone
  • if your a "needs improvement" (forced stack ranking), you're gone
  • if you are entry level, you're probably gone too

They might close the waterloo office. i don't think there are many people who go in any more

Netsuite will not be affected. Unhealthy oracle health will be gutted.

Will be hit harder because they have avoided past action

Layoffs will start next week and continue until end of FY. Restructuring like the rest of Oracle will happen in coming weeks. Flattening of organization and more selective rounds of cuts will continue. They have a huge budget for layoffs if you read the news. NetSuite is not special.

1-2 per team, 1 manager per region, 1 vp per group

Why would NetSuite be exempt?
