Thread regarding Texas Instruments Inc. layoffs

LFAB attrition rate

Shareholder here. I heard that LFAB is having major people problems. I am concerned. Can you please let me know if this is credible, and what is HR doing to address this problem.

@ac wild that “I’ve heard some things, how’s it going?” Is considered ruffling feathers. That’s only the case if everyone is miserable

They have people problems on multiple platforms. They have a head count issue from all the layoffs . Less people to fill the rolls. They also have a people management issue as in no respect for anyone.

The issue when upper management treats anyone below them like trash and you have a morale issue already is that people are less willing to work hard harder because I feel like what’s the point.

You also have management who has no degree in management or no work experience in management just plucked up within their first year of working in a manufacturing company. So they literally do not have any people or management skills in that source. Unlike micron mention who has serious courses in managing people. Sometimes they even send their people elsewhere for formal training, but most importantly, they either hire people with experiencing managing people and or with degrees with management.
I could go on for years, but look at the first shift feed in this website and you can see why it’s an issue

Oh its credible

They have actively targeted Old micron employees. Layoffs for full teams leaving 1 man standing. Then getting mad at them for not keeping up on the work

I know of multiple cases of TI begging laid off employees to come back.

Culture is down right toxic. Many of my friends of just abruptly left with no plans they just want out.

What is HR doing.... Nothing
Oh wait, new college grads? That will solve the issue right. Profit sharing cut even better

Yeah, Micron is hiring and the managers, middle management are under incredible stress. The fab manager and his lackey are irrational and think everything they do at TI is good. It isn’t.

They are extremely arrogant and have had it easy pumping out low price chips with a virtual monopoly in Analog so since they made billions, they think the way they have ran fabs before, is all good and stupid ex Micron engineers don’t know sh&t. They take zero feedback and any advice offered is taken as negativity and will be shut down. Everyone has given up and I think we are doomed if they don’t do a major culture adjustment.

They don’t look at problems holistically. Zero analysis and it’s all about saving 5 cents in bucket A even if it costs a dollar in bucket B next week. They don’t believe in scheduled maintenance for months balance, just run to fail because you can’t go over your monthly budget. Then when the tool trashes product, it’s the process owner or tool owners fault. When the CEO came, they polished his knob and told him how it’s all turned around, not letting him know it’s held together with duct tapes. The speech about challenging the status quo was one of the worst examples of self delusion I have ever seen .

They totally decimated the workforce and if maybe 5-10 key people leave, it will be useless to go on. They don’t believe in specialized people doing change management or metrology. They want everyone to know everything even with the new MES that was forced on us. It’s so they can lay you off not be hurt. But it makes everything more risky and fraught with the possibility of error. This place is Intel part 2. They think they know everything and everyone else is an id--t. It’s all about the TI way. But what is the TI way? Doing stupid sh-t and claiming it’s gold?

They don’t understand the basics. We do make money without depreciation but they act like if you run more wafers it’s this incredible shock that the price to manufacture, normalized to wafers will go down. I will write a case study about this some day. They are really lacking in basic self awareness.

@cj seeing Micron stock skyrocket while TI stagnates has got to be tough

I think the people problems are a result of HR laying off a significant portion of the headcount there. That and a lot of the employees I know who were there pre-TI have hated it since the TI takeover.

Just admit you are an employee wanting to ruffle some feathers on this website. It couldn’t be more obvious!
