Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Now entering the chaos phase

Knowing the management excellence and expedience, and the fact that there was no real plan beyond merciless cuts, who knows how long it will take for the dust to settle and for there to be even a semblance of an organized workflow. My team is already feeling the pain, and it’s only going to get worse in the coming months. We were stretched thin to begin with. It certainly didn’t help that they somehow managed to get rid of the very people who actually knew what they were doing.

I mean how many Directors are needed. Have you ever started to add them all up. It's astounding. It's sickening

Yes people who actually did the work should have stayed and a lot more managers needed to go, no doubt.

@ac When we figure this out please let me know…it’s comical to watch all of them, including Sr. Managers - try to lead…they (at least ours) can’t run a weekly huddle. And she has 3 Supervisors - um why do we need a Sr. Manager? She has never sent an email, talked about vision - nothing. Her weekly huddles are pathetic. Same song every week… I’m sad to see a once great company where we are now.

More ADs should have taken the hit, not the knowledge workers. Other than approving time and POs what do ADs even do? Meetings about the work they don’t understand and have no idea what goes into projects
