Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I'm done carrying the extra load

This "leadership" keeps cutting people and stacking the leftovers on whoever stays. They already started again, and I am determined not to take on another unwanted task. We all kept absorbing the hit and pretending it was normal, but that ends for me today. If pushing back puts a target on my back, so be it.

@ac
There does come a point in time when you've got nothing more to give. I stopped being the "Answer Guy" a couple of years ago and it has worked out well.
Just cruising toward the retirement finish line these days, light at the end of the tunnel ETA is June 2026

Idle venting of someone who will do what they are told.

@OP I empathize and I know my advice is easier said than done, but don’t refuse the extra load. Do the following things instead:

1- list everything that’s on your plate and tell your manager that you can’t do it all and ask them to prioritize the list for you
2- start looking for another job
3- if your desired job requires additional training or certifications use company resources to acquire them

Good Luck!

We'll see, "when push comes to shove" most people fold and do what they're asked.

Good luck with that stance...
