Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Unpopular opinion

Dan is doing what needs to be done to fix years of bad leadership and turn the company around. He’s the real deal.

@ac he said only the most obvious things we have all known for years, and gave no concrete steps other than starting 1030 meetings at 1030. Visionary.

I kind of agree with the concept, just not the execution. I saw some really smart people that should have been a part of the solution RIF'd and some long time "leaders" remain that will absolutely not be a part of the solution. There should have been a lot more thought put into how this was done. They conducted surgery with a chainsaw and there will be a predictable result from that.

@c1 You, sir, are an id--t. I'll give you that DOGE is like corporate America cuts.. removing things that are needed, destroying lives, all for the profits for the wealthy. Sure, that's the same. The difference is that there are more life saving programs destroyed by DOGE. So sure, laugh away, you hyena.

Everyone knows what’s wrong, that’s the easy part. The hard part is what are you going to do about it. Right now there’s some vague indications of what might happen but literally no details which means Verizon employees will continue to drift uncertainly, not knowing where they are headed

OP, some un-smart people thought DOGE was a mistake too. Now we laugh at them.

@OP It’s a popular opinion but on those site, there are a lot of angry people that were impacted by job loss, so they’re immediately not trying to hear truth. They’re rightfully angry but they know the company was going down from Hans, everything Dan said was accurate and many were pleased that he said it

@OP You know that Dan knew about and approved all of Hans's plans, right? None of that was done in a vacuum.

Why does Dan have bad posture? Looks like he sees the future before his body arrives.

I agree with everything is said - he gave crystal clear picture of the dysfunctional organization Verizon is today. I blame the executive and upper management that played the game to their own benefit and engulf their useless carriers. I wish him well and it will be great if he succeed even for the 50% of what he said, but I doubt the "mob" (Band 2 through 5) will make it happen.

He hasn’t done anything different. They are keeping Hans and putting him on the board. What exactly has Dan done?

I actually agree... Hans has been lying to us for years in those quarterly meetings, ever noticed how every quarter was the 'best quarter ever' and 'record breaking'... It's nice to be told the truth for once.

He has been on board for many years, what was he doing when he observed the decline in market share? Sleeping? Suddenly after getting title giving lectures and trying to be hero and transparent? Something doesn’t add up to me.

@OP What a corporate sheep 🐑 🐑

Hans dropped the bar so far into the basement that Dan still looks like a hero to the yes‑men with no voice, despite the disaster of layoffs he presided over.
