Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Divisions reduced

The Reorg is going to reduce the divisions as usual. So if you’re a division player get ready. That’s where a large portion of the other 2500 come from. Buckle up. 1st week of December

The plans are in place and no one involved is taking even when it’s actually anonymous. Now it’s just a matter waiting. One consistent theme is first week of December. Not much work happening that week and probably the week before

FTW isn't that the new robotic warehouse that just went live? Robots picking product and loading trucks replacing humans who since Covid don't want to work anymore?

@eh great point

Knowing HQ, likely outcome is just cut half of each and shove everyone together.

Pretty surprising actually they didn't do that when merged with Frito...maybe leaders at the time were to focused on unimportant things like growth, new products, etc

If the goal is one Org between Pepsi and Frito then this post is rubbish! The 2 Orgs need to match up, today Frito has 6 Regions and Pepsi has 4 Divisions, someone has to either reduce to 4 or increase to 6. Then from there for Frito Ops and Traffic need to merge, for Pepsi S&D and Transport need to merge, then and only then can the 2 orgs merge into 1. Now you still need to account for manufacturing, warehousing, sales and drivers all coming together under one umbrella along with complexity of union vs non union entities. I pity the people charged with figuring out how this puzzle all comes together but to become profitable once again we must get there. Do we have the fortitude to make the journey? Time will tell.

Posts like these are funny to me. Apparently this person knows something but will be cryptic nonetheless. Super helpful

All roads lead to December . Where we / or someone is asked / told to do more with less. A successful business grows

@OP will there be no travel order put out soon? Not sure what happened last time but kind of weird if someone on their way to see retailer or foodservice distributor and gets fired getting off the plane.

PepsiCo believes there shouldn’t be duplicate roles, jobs, and divisions between PepsiCo and Frito-Lay. They’re going to consolidate and let people go.

They are also looking at AI for the Sales Dept. They days of building relationships have come and gone. Stores want selling products (no loyalty) and producers want to sell quality (no loyalty). AI supply chain will take care of that. Infosys and PepsiCo are prototyping it now.
