Pump & Dump
IBM's stock is still up significantly over the past several years, so cherry-picking a 2.5-day move is a strange way to prove a 'pump and dump.' Real pump-and-dumps usually don't involve a 100+ year-old company with billions in revenue, audited financials, institutional ownership, and Wall Street analyst coverage. Sometimes stocks go down. It was all hype about quantum nonsense. Heading back to reality now. Expect sub-$220 after earnings release next month.
@OP IBM is just 1 big Excel file Wall St plays with. They make nothing anymore and forecasting anemic 5% sales growth for 26. Tech blood letting today. Hugh profit taking for huge profits. Perhaps freeing up cash to go big into the SpaceX and Anthropic IPOs. Uncertainty of future AI sales growth forecasts. Strong job growth report suggest rates will not be cut. Put this all in the blender and yeah you are looking at 3-5% PSI coming out of the tech airship but mid to long term the QQQ ETF of the top 100 Nasdaq firms has done wonderfully. Perhaps a buying day if you have the stomach BUT NOT IBM!
think so?
