@cp Some of us do complicated work with tight deadlines. Being alone to focus on getting stuff done means a lot to us.

Ok, i’ll be “that guy”. Of the two extremes, I prefer RTO5.

I hated WFH5. No teamwork, no spontaneous conversations, no relationship building, every human interaction reduced to a calendar entry or “shoot me an email”.

I’d much rather 3/2 or even 4/1, but if the choice is fully remote or fully in-person, my role and team is much better off in person.

@cs I’m guessing 95% of us have no clue what a P1-4 is.

@cq Remember all those P1s upper management didn't want to see, so they made them into P2s? And all those automated P2s they wanted lowered to P4s because it 'looked bad'? And then there were too many P4s because of a legitimate problem, so they turned off the monitoring for it.... Then they went as far as archiving all the incidents past a certain date so you couldn't do a trend report on them.
I remember all of it.

The data will be sliced, diced, filtered, massaged, and manipulated to show precisely what PNC wants it to show. Nothing more and nothing less.

@c5

Too bad. We are coming in because we are supposed to cross-functionally communicate, spontaneously collaborate, and build up corporate culture.

None of this is about long stretches of quiet, focused work. Try to look at things from a broader perspective and embrace the possibilities!

@ab

And all RTO employees have full and permanent immunity to offshoring or bot replacement, simply by coming in?

Use your head for something more than a hat rack...

Haha who CARES. Let this company lay in the bed of unintended consequences.
They'll replace you with j33ts and ai and you'll like it.

One of my teammates said he got more done taking his son to the doctor than he did at the office the following day. People need a class on open office behavior. Inside voices! Just because I’m sitting here doesn’t mean I want to chat! No, I do NOT want to smell your onion sandwich on garlic toast!

@ae well this will be the challenge. They say coming in is productive, but is it? Hope this data helps tell a story that it isnt efficent

I’ve never seen it this bad. I’m honestly concerned for the future of the company. People around me just sit and complain all day long. Work isn’t getting done. No one seems to care about their quality or quantity of work. I’ve continued to work the best I can but it’s extremely hard to focus on your own calls and workload with everyone else around you on conference calls all day long. Some folks grab a conference room as soon as they come in and sit in there the entire day. I honestly don’t blame them. I’m gonna try to do the same thing. The distractions are overwhelming.

They're replacing most people with offshore employees. The people search is already filled with them. They just had some teams training people and were told that several manager and a bunch of employees were being let go. If it can be done from home most likely it will be offshore or bot done
