Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Anyone ever get a bonus for a Meets/Not Meets????

Just curious! Could you possibly simply get a very low bonus since you still met some expectations? Most know what a tough place this is to work for many areas. If you are an employee who always got meets/meets and then one time its meets/does not meet -- is it manager's discretion?

@7b - this isn't nursery school. It's a job. You got DNM and you want a Bonus???

Seriously. What do I need to understand. You have a job for which you did not meet the basic performance standard. Should I take funds off the back of a hard-working top performer to give you a handout?

You have a salary + generous benefits. That is your pay. You are not Entitled to any bonus if you aren't even covering the basic duties.

That said, if I am supposed to be "compassionate" and "seek to understand why" you cannot Meet the basic requirements of the role, then you should have been pulling me aside to make me aware of your circumstances well before Performance Reviews and Bonus submission deadlines in Sept-Dec.

If you got any bonus, then that means your manager may want to keep you, but I'd be surprised if HR would let them give you any extra at all. And if you didn't, you either need to speak up sooner to make your manager aware so they can advocate for you.

So, no, I still don't think anyone with DNM should get a Bonus. It's a BONUS! Not a hand out.

Guess what? You have no idea at all what the situation was around the meets/not meets. Are you a manager? I feel bad for your people if your attitude is to immediately judge and not seek to understand. I was asking the question for a reason. Doh.

As a Manager, I would give DNM if you are not licking my shoes and su-k up because my other cronies are doing it and getting Exceeds and paid well.

DNM means that when the inevitable budget crunch comes later in the year you’ll be getting a permanent unpaid vacation.

Sorry. Not sorry.

What the F do you want for DNM?

A Participation Trophy?

@ab I got the same review of exceeds/meets with expectation of no bonus. During the review, I was told that my group would not be considered for layoffs this year. Maybe that was my bonus.

I'm an exceeds/meets and not expecting anything, so no, I would assume not.
