A lot of you knew this day was coming. Seeing all the panic post and comments just says, no one prepared for what could come. Verizon is a mega business and they will cuts ties in a second. If you’re let go, look at it as a blessing. I left Verizon and thankful I’m not dealing with this. I’ll end it with, at first I was scared, time went by and it was the absolute best decision. I miss the days of the VZ Patriot, the historic whistleblower, who railed at corporate leadership by email... exposing hypocrisy and embarrassing pizza parties for adults. Leadership was shook, as he evaded every distribution group filter. His message could not be stopped. I listened outside the door of the office where management had gathered for a securit6 update and said they "tracked down" the Patriot, to the Orange CT store. Little did they know, I was right outside the door. Corporate anti-union training soon followed for leadership shortly after.
But those are the days of the past....

It's hard not to be scared when you don't know what your future holds or what to plan for. The job market is brutal right now. But somehow, I'm not panicking. My husband is, but I'm not. I honestly believe and have always believed that everything works out because there is no other option. It may not work out as planned, it may be a tougher road than expected, but there's no other option. This is no exception. It's been 5 hours since I got the news and I've told my family, watched binged two hours on Hulu, updated my resume and passed three mock interviews using Chat GPT (if AI can take my job, it can help me get a new one).

Well said. I left as well in the past and it was the best decision I made and it was on my own terms. I have friends impacted today hence I checked the site.
