It's a degrading company. Very low self worth. Managers are stuck in a bubble. I've had one 1x1 with my manager in 18 weeks. Constant change. Low morale. Uncomfortable environment. I feel bad seeing the kids being hired at half my salary who appear to have hopes. The people that do advance only get stuck. Only way to work for this company is to get hired on the outside. Not from within. They make it too challenging to move into the next role and takes upwards of 18 months to move into an outside role. Quota's have gone up considerably with most only attaining 25% in certain sectors of business. Most hiring is being done for small and medium business. low hanging fruit but also challenging. You think you advance but then the role evaporates. Since being called BTO it's been a considerable nightmare. In our segment we act as more of a technical pre-sales team, our role is not a primary contact sales team. With this comes a lull or full speed during the day. In which the personality and mindset of this person thrives on isolation and ability to think quietly and quickly. It does not do well in a call center row environment. This is where tech has lost their edge. Remember when tech companies used to have a culture that geared toward being the cool kids. That is long gone. The cool kids have grown up into dull adults. Money has just made them boring and no longer having that edge. It's unfortunate that we are at this stage in the tech life. No one seems to have a definitive view and if they do they are lying to you or just believe in their own hype. Don't always believe the hype. But what do I know. I'm on here writing this and sulking in my own feelings. Blah!

I want to keep going. The question is, does the company want me.

Absolutely the worst company and executives in the industry. Can't wait to get out of this awful company. ELT are puppets and have no idea what their employees do. Most are not technical. Good luck! Dell He-l!

I'm sure most of us will eventually get canned, but keeping taking advantage of the situation while I can.

I’ll keep milking Dell’s te-t until it dries up. Big money for little work. It’s great!

I'm staying till they kick me out. Love hugging my job.
100% WFH, nice benefits package, hardly any workload, great manager.
Getting my skills polished at their expense, why leave by choice?

Absolutely, I'm being offered exec level jobs that aren't willing to pay what Dell pays me as an IC. Why do twice the work for less pay?

I personally do. I actually love everything about my job even though I know I can absolutely find a higher paying job.

For me, I have it made. Amazing manager/director, love everyone I work with, making mid 6 figure salary + bonus, am only required to go into office 3 days/week or 30 days per quarter, there are only 1755 - it's under 2k but don't remember the exact number - people in my department, I don't work with anybody globally - everyone is in the US, the flexibility I have with my job is INSANE, I have personal relationships with countless people and managers; and I'm in the Fed space which seems to be a fairly secure little "bubble." Definitely has it's Cons but the Pro's far outweigh them IMPO.

For the 6 years I've been here, I've increased my salary by a little over 30k off of raises alone, though I will say the main thing I'm frustrated with is lack of promotions. Which seems to be an issue with the majority of US dell employees company wide...

But yes, I plan on being here till I'm laid off. I can make more money elsewhere and I'm fully aware of that but money isn't everything. I DO think once I hit 10 years I'll be looking to hop jobs because Dell has a historical tendency to put targets on those who are 10+ year employees lol

After 8 years there and 3 years of layoffs, no, I doubt I will stay at Dell until my 9th anniversary.
