Redesign of the system

Finally had a chance to read through the severance plans and it is hilarious they are making you fill out an application to decide if they want to fire you. LOL!! It dawned on me after reading the AT&T email someone posted on here, they are attempting to redesign the system to keep us all trapped. Working from home and COVID gave everyone time to stop, look around and evaluate their lives and the system being forced down our throats. The Elites and Executives that rely on the fruits of our labor to distance themselves from the common man and create generational wealth are panicking. Employees were taking back control of their lives, moving away from the rat race and expensive cities. Getting side gigs and backup plans to give them options to exit corporate America and shifting the balance of power back to the employee. They can't let that happen. MT took his $150 million in compensation and got the he-l out, has his re--rd-ed son in the company and appointed his buddy JF and two SF agents to continue the scam and cover his tracks. Sc--w these people, only do enough to not get fired, and find a way out. Don't participate in their scam, resist, resist resist....these are evil people without a soul.

There is certainly a targeted effort from management to target high in pay scale salary and tenured employees. For first line leaders, this will appear as getting coached to have these conversations with your people without even realizing what’s happening. I’ve been hearing many stories of employees starting to have performance management concern type conversations the last 2-3 months with their supervisor out of the blue. If you’re in this position or one of these people, would encourage you to be open about this, especially if over 40yo. Truly the most unethical behavior I’ve ever heard of the company engaging in starting to happen out of the guise of helping the customer and at massive scale. Rather than cut all the red tape of management layers, they said, let’s start managing people out the door with a bunch of institutional knowledge. Makes perfect sense.

That's great and all, but I think you're trivializing need for FMLA or ADA leaves for legitimate psychiatric conditions that happen from intensely stressful life situations.

When I had to take leave for severe psychiatric illness it didn't have to go down the way you're saying since there was nothing to fake or exaggerate about being forced 5150 into a hospital inpatient program because an intense period of prolonged work-related stress and abuse kicked off a psychotic break, or "nervous breakdown" if you will.

When that happened to me, there were literally tons of other people in that office who were also falling apart in different ways while dealing with it all too. This was back around 8 or so years ago. It was so bad that there were routinely paramedics called and there'd be an ambulance out in front of the office. There were employees sobbing in the bathrooms everyday. There were holes in bathroom walls from being punched or kicked. There were empty bottles of vodka in the landscape bushes and in the trash cans. Someone tore a mounted fire extinguisher case out of the wall. There was other crazy stuff too, but these are just some of the things I can remember seeing or knew of.

Just take your 12 weeks of FMLA protection and 26 weeks of paid STD. That will buy you almost a year. There are tons of videos on-line that will coach you through it. You will want a referral to a Psychiatrist and usually if you tell them you are thinking about harming yourself or have lost the will to do anything or live because of all the stress you are under, the will fill out the STD paperwork to send it NY Life. They may make you do regular visits but that is no problem since your insurance will pay for a certain amount of mental health visits. Remember while you are on STD you are building PTO hours too! If you leave then they have to pay you out for it! They usually have to give you at least 30 days to reacclimate after being back so that will buy you some more time. Takes some effort but it is worth it trust me! Oh and I would do it sooner then later as they are about to get rid of your STD because so many people are using this option to get out of this he-l hole. Don't feel guilty using your benefits!

@mv There’s definitely growing concern over a pattern of all these questionable tactics such as pretextual memos, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and strategic action plans that appear designed to push employees out unfairly. Recent actions suggest a deliberate and biased effort to target older, and/or higher-paid long time employees under the guise of workforce reduction. The aggressive strategy to replace with younger, lower-cost hires seems increasingly blatant, echoing similar behavior from 5–10 years ago. This time, however, the evidence may be harder for them to conceal.

Yes and they hope you kick off during the in-office weeks. More dramatic and visual for the ungrateful masses. They will tell you how fortunate you are to be alive and have this job. See "Bob" didn't follow our mental health tips huddle points or get his wellness check and see what happened to him. If he would have only listened to us he would still be here slaving away to the cult and prove he is a true believer!

@fj hey now, haven’t you seen and heard they care about your mental health? /s

The perfect employee is one who never takes time off, has a mental breakdown after 3-5 years and quits from the stress. The mental breakdown is proof that the company squeezed absolutely everything out of them that they could.

Bonus points if the mental breakdown ends with the employee putting a lead sp----r in their mouth, because that means they can't go and work for a competitor or come back with a lawsuit.

That is exactly the type of leader they want! Just execute the plan with no thought or regard to the impact. People are disposable and they would love to turnover the entire workforce every 2-4 years. Remember they do the exact opposite of what they say, it's intentional. Gas Lightning and sleight of hand! Control the narrative and set whatever reality they want! These people are soulless and evil with no regard for anyone or anything except themselves. You are complete trash in their eyes!

This is why they are losing the number one spot to Progressive. Once that happens they will continue the free fall.

@ab My manager exemplifies a toxic leadership archetype—leaving a trail of mistreated employees and continuing to impose unrealistic expectations and deadlines. The psychological and power harassment is relentless, and any feedback or concerns are dismissed without genuine reflection. The fact that this individual remains in their role, despite the harm caused to countless capable employees, suggests that this behavior is not only tolerated but perhaps even endorsed by the organization. It feels like a culture built on authoritarian control and blind compliance.

That is how they justify everything they do. I have talked to numerous Executives over the years and every time they lay someone off, target a good employee or eliminate thousands of jobs/reorg and destroy their lives, they always say it's for the greater good for the customer and the company. Now they never give up one single penny, do anything different and actually it just increases their pay and bonuses. They keep promoting lemmings, mostly minority and white females, little bi--h arsss beta males, g-ys or any other group that is gullible to propaganda, have a emotional reaction to most situations, or too biased/easily fooled to investigate the lies they are telling. They give the marching orders and the lemmings just blindly follow all the time worshipping the golden calf that is SF or whatever feel good motto is propagated for the day.
