Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Salary raises really happened

So, I have confirmed it with multiple colleagues. Apparently in the last few weeks some of them indeed received salary raises, surprisingly nice ones. If you still haven't received, that means you have been skipped. What is weird - these raises do not follow any pattern, some best performers were skipped, some people who do not have "friends" in management granted, tenure also didn't matter. Seems almost random. I have no clue what this company is doing and it seems they also don't know it...

@1tj We all tried that. 10 years of no pay rise taught us clearly doing more does not get you more. Doing less however.... Does increase our hourly rate at least.

@1tj that's funny, because bi--hing on this site and sitting on your a-s wound got me a very healthy redundancy package.

It feels like I left last year. I've hardly had any work since. Evidently we're still needed. Presumably just as an insurance policy incase things go wrong. Why would I actually quit on this basis. I get paid to do very little. I can't say what I'll do if they actually need me. It depends if I'm busy, 'cos I'm sure not just going to be sitting here going gaga, or doing just for the sake of it training on something I'll probably never touch.

@d2 if they could’ve left, they would’ve left already so 8% is much more than they could get a place else

8% pay rise may sound nice, but you're still better off leaving when you're paid 75% of the market rate for your job

@c8 Maybe people could be more specific - we are supposed to be an IT company. Vague requirements get broken solutions! If the @OP wants to talk about specific regions then making it sound like it's company wide is likely to be interpreted as click-bait. Sure different regions get different terms. This site however being exclusively english language of course has certain assumptions about the regions that participate in the conversation.

Guys in this thread thinking DXC is present only in US and UKI, even though it operates in ten European countries or more. Haha. No wonder they ain't got no payrise.

There is only one way to get a rise in your hourly rate whilst working at DXC. Work less hours !!!

I started cutting back years ago. Less actually means better quality. Tasks are quoted longer, and delivered on time.

I'm still available if needed. But aim to do only 5hrs a day. If things go wrong and certainly if I caused that I step up. But my policy seems to be what the company wants. They don't have to pay me more. I manage expectations on when in line with that. I also don't attend lunchtime we are all so busy to do it any other time meetings. They are utter bullsh-t.

Usual sh-t stiring intended to upset everyone and make them suspicious of colleagues pay.

When the company explains how you get a pay rise and when you meet those objectives you actually do. Then people will start paying attention and trying.

Well I know for a fact that at Velonetic townhall last week it was officially announced there were no pay rises, so something doesn't add up in this thread.

There have also been repeated rumours that no one in UK is getting a raise even if you are on one of the analyst grades.

So I think this thread is just BS/Clickbait

@ag Not a clickbait. I confirm two of my coworkers also got it last week. Five, including me, did not.

@OP Clickbait. Absolutely sweet f a so far for me and all the colleagues I know that were in-scope for a pay review. The review has probably happened but none of us has even had an appraisal this year, after all the rush of the self evaluation end of Jan. The outcome of the review is yet again 0% increase, so we will continue to do the bare minimum and enjoy all the fruits of being a virtual worker.

@OP,
There is a possibility that the folks that didn't get a raise are targeted for layoff.
I am not saying it is a 100% certainty but the only time I thought I had a sizeable raise coming based on performance (and was crushed when I didn't get one) turned out I was on a long planned layoff list due to my GEO location, and 7 months later the ax fell.
Hopefully folks can consider a Plan B (again just in case). Good Luck.
