Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Biz Management Attempting to Void My Approval!

I went through the ADA accommodation process for 100% remote work, submitted medical documentation, and received written approval. After that approval, I was verbally told by business leadership that I still need to report onsite 3 days per week.

I’m now seeking written clarification from HR/Employee Relations because I’m continuing to follow the written accommodation approval unless formally told otherwise.

Just posting so others know to document everything, keep copies of approvals, and ask for any changes in writing.

Be careful. I was diagnosed with Conn's. I was having brain fog at times. I asked for accomadations to record training sessions and meetings. I was laid off 5 months later. 20 years top performer.

I'd keep pressing the matter. I'd get a lawyer and launch a tactical LAWSUIT backed by a nice letter to your Senator.

@aa the manager is literally in violation of the ADA by doing this. If he were to force him in after getting approval (which is a very thorough process) … it’s against the law.

@OP that’s crazy because I’m pretty sure they speak with your manager too during the process. You went thru the proper steps. If they would happen to fire you out of nowhere bc your mgr is being petty… sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Make sure your performance is top notch, especially if this the first time you got an accommodation and like others have said, document everything.

I agree with your documenting and seeking confirmation. Troubling that you followed the company-directed procedure and then management contradicts. It’s not a negotiation….5, no, zero, no wait, 3! What’s that saying, “form over function”? Keep working on getting what you need. Good luck!

Document everything. Maybe get in touch with your state’s department of health. Really sh---y how they are treating you. But I’m not surprised.

@OP I wouldn't keep pressing the matter. This goes for us all. We all know this will blow over in due time, but for now the best thing for us to do is lay low, "do as we are told", and wait it out.
