How Evil is the CAO?

The title explains but what has your experience been with him?

One of these know nothings is my direct manager. Know nothing is spot on. He is in London and gets to work a half of day while making inappropriate and uneducated comments. Just terrible place to work these days. I am looking to get out asap.

Zero positive things to say about the guy, which is concerning considering the fact that he is here to LEAD people. My entire crew is miserable and looking for a way out. Which is what he wants us all to do, apparently?

Tactless and thoughtless leaders are a cancer for Wells Fargo. He has amassed quite a few HR complaints in the short time he has been here. Not sure who is bailing him out but we now have the most toxic and dangerous work environment at the bank COO and OC needs to make a change.

He's a direct reflection of his boss, who is the most vile employee in the entire company.

@aa there's quite a few managers in his org, include direct, that do not agree with his style or strategy. And I know of one of his hires is a nightmare as she tries to muddle in everyone's business at an attempt of a power grab. Business that she clearly has zero experience in running.

@b2 That ethics complaint would not have driven change. This is all very intentional. And CAO is going to be an even bigger career ki-ling machine now that they’re pushing to terminate people instead of Paying severance. Clear, consistent disdain and a lack of respect for the workforce. And it’s all gonna get worse real soon.

Both he (the person), and the group itself are absolutely horrible to work for/in. You can tell be the level of detail and content that the examples given in this thread are accurate and legit. It’s just awful.

As a CAO team member, i have first hand knowledge on how challenging it is for the employees. For the first time in 8 years, i have found myself crying at work. I was tempted to open an ethics complaint but figured not worth it and just need to exit on my own accord. I wish someone higher up can see through all this. You dont need to be an ar-e to run a business

He is fed a bunch of nonsense from his know nothing hires that "lead" from behind. No direction other than efficiency, no guidance, just jargon slung around. His organization is structured like a house of cards balanced on a spinning plate. Completely inept folks in charge with 20+ directs then a sprinkling of managers with 2 team members. Easier to give mandatory IM when you never set a goal for folks

He drops the hammer on Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain/Third Party every few months. In the 6-8 months he has ended the hub designation for St Louis (several hundred+ employees impacted), he demoted the Chief Procurement Officer to Mailroom Head, and he laid off the Head of Strategy and Transformation . All while hiring two leaders that are not in hub locations, with zero acknowledgement. This group pushes the forced IM ratings very hard too, its openly discussed in team meetings. The Town Halls are filled with rhetoric and softball questions. on top of all this there's a huge push for more India integration at the expense of US processes and employees. It's all really horrible actually and some people are being vocal about how much they hate it. I'm searching for something else.

It depends. If you are one of the cronies and a small bank reject, you will do very well here. Every person brought in has been extremely underwhelming and clueless especially in change, strat and third party.
