Diversity and Inclusion team should take a beating

The constant pandering got us in huge trouble.

@dk If you are required to take into account anyone's intrinsic qualities, race, s-x, orientation, etc. you are casting any and all merit-based decisions into doubt. It's either all about merit, or you're prioritizing something else.

Like most leftists, you fail to comprehend that it is impossible to have it both ways.

@db except there’s no proof anyone was hired not by merit but by the color of their skin. That’s only in your head because you are probably racist and think people of color aren’t as capable. Take a hike

@a8 Enforcing anti-discrimination laws isn't extorsion.

If you hire and fire on anything other than merit, you are violating anti-discrimination laws.

@aa the level of vetting and eligibility requirements those people have to clear by both the US Government and Target legal team, “many” here wouldn’t get their job if it were done to the citizens.

@ak doesn’t explain why they decided to donate to the inauguration fund, now does it?

And it may have been that the DEI goals were originally set to end in 2025 but target didn’t need to come out and make a whole public statement on that like they did. What they did was done to appease the big clown.

The administrations lawyers didn’t force us pulling back DEI, the C suite made the decision months before Trump was even elected. A DMM even said so that the timing just happened to be bad from when they already planned to announce.

Target was threatened by the current administration into dropping DEI. Per internal corporate lawyers the Trump administration threatened to we-ponize Republican AGs in southern states to impact target business if they did not agree to “drop” DEI. Why else would target do it and sign up for the boycott that got us where we are today? Why would they give to the inauguration fund when they haven’t in years? Why would Brian be going the Whitehouse and Mar A Lago to no avail?

I’m sure this post will be taken down now just like the others I’ve seen mentioning this extortion.

Multiple VPs who are making $500k a year total comp to celebrate diversity?

Directors who constantly work from home and focus on party planning and photo shoots?

The department is run by a child who flies around to take photos and post on the internet. No experience.

People don't like it, but it's true. The problem with capitulating to the mob is the second you stop or pull back, they're even angrier than if you had just done nothing at all.

The demands will not stop, they will only become more unreasonable.

This is a lesson for everybody. Too bad Target had to learn it the hard way.
