Ford Layoffs a Sign of Its Crippled EV Business - 1000 Employees

It's about time Ford realize that it cannot compete in the EV business. Loosing $5billon per year with no end in sight is not a good business strategy.

Ford will need to lay off more of Model E and retreat. Join venture with another Chinese EV manufacturing company, build them in China, and ship them to the US just like what GM is doing.

@jm If you push back or ask questions, suddenly you’re understaffed, under-supported, and left holding failures that weren’t yours. Starving your projects is the quietest way to ki-l you.

Why fire the employees? If the business is failing, cut the executives or at least their bonuses and pay. You need to lose 35 of me to even touch one of their bonuses and I'm not the reason (nor are you) why things su-k.

@aa

Exactly - it's really not that hard to comprehend.
Looking to recoup the ~18billion in loss plus start making substantial profits will happen in due time, people just need a little patience. Time frame of 15 to 20 years out seems reasonable.

They need to get rid of the top management. Ford is way too heavy on the top and not enough worker bees. Also the top management put the company into this situation with going and jumping in with both feet into EV with out the infrastructure in place. They should have gone hybrid first so the consumer could adjust and get use to the technology.

No one wants to buy a Ford EV. WHY?

They are Guly. Inefficient. Poor quality. Low tech. Expensive. Unreliable.

OP obviously does not work for Ford. Otherwise they would know that Model e hasn't even debut the Gen2 Model e products yet! They will be the revenue generator for Ford once available to the public. Be patient.

Bill and Jim put all their chips in on the EV bet and the dice came up snake-eyes.

RIP to the Ford.

Ford needs to fire at least 10 to 20% of the workforce in order to break even for 4th quarter.

1000 is not enough. 10,000 to 15,000 job cuts is what Ford needs.
