Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Survive and Advance

I feel like all of us are in a Jim "Jimmy V" Valvano moment...Survive and Advance.

The problem is there is NO championship for us at the end. All that we get is more work, less pay, watch the company give no concern for the health of humanity, and executives who will get bigger bonuses off of our hard work.

What are good reasons to stay or go?

I got curious today about possible layoffs, been very frustrated with my work lately even though this job has been better than any other for me. Someone made a comment about a social media post response and so I got curious and here I am realizing I should go ahead and work on my resume. I don't know what I will do if my dept has layoffs.

12 years is a long time, especially with the healthcare industry circling the drain. I'm getting out soon. Will it impact any high-profile projects - absolutely.

Quiet quit til rif seems like the best move. My anxiety and stress can't take anything else. If I don't get rifed, then I'd like to see all of us leftovers get leave time for ptsd. Them two wellness days ain't even the tip of the iceberg.

Team 35% til the end.

I’m staying as I’m not sure any other major healthcare company is better. BUT the last couple of years made me realize a job is just a job and no longer will give any “extra” to this company because there is no point in it. It won’t get me anything extra. I have enough years in that SUB pay will be over 4 months when I do get my riff so I get some comfort for that. But I’m in this for a check and that’s it. I don’t have any hope of ever being promoted again especially with current state of economy. Maybe things will get better a few years from now. I’m about 12 years away from Medicare I’m just trying to stay decently employed until I can semi retire. Wish I handled money better when I was young but I didn’t Talking it one day at a time now
