Does anyone have any inside information on potential layoffs in VBG over the next month or two?

Basically the only reason I am kept around is to serve tickets that AI cannot understand or process. The work is down to a trickle, the days we go into office people spend more time looking at their phones/talking in groups about everything but work/wandering off at random times of day to go play ping pong.
Management has gone silent. Prices are climbing for fuel/food/etc, but no one at Verizon cares to hear that. AI is being shoved into our faces at every turn, promised that we would have a working relationship with AI and not be dominated by it. A recent call indicated a large percentage of work calls in the future would be handled by AI, greatly reducing the need for coordinators to touch the more challenging work. More like greatly reducing coordinators, Verlieson.
Did you notice in the past Q1 results , there is no mention about VBG in analysis call
If the plan is anything like what is happening with SAMs, it's not good. We have the absolute trash leaders, no plan outside of blitz calls 6x a week (some days we have 2-3), and constant meetings to review the same deals over and over. No time to maintain the current base with 25-35 calls a day, minimum. These people are completely out of their minds. I know many long timers and top producers that are on their way out. If the goal is not to decimate before a small layoff of what's left is not the plan, I don't know what is.

What is the view of current VBG leadership? Lots of change since the end of 2025. Who is good; who is not? (Maybe better to say departments than people's names on this board.)
@a9 parts of VZB make a ton of money for the company. parts absolutely bleed money. But hard to decouple the parts that don't becuase there is a lot of built in codependencies. Also there are a lot of contractual obligations as well as things like national security implications. Can't just sell them off or sunset them. Literally CAN'T with some of it
nody can you answer this for you. you have to work under the assumption that you could get the call anytime. seriously, thats the only way at Verizon anymore (not just recently, there have been a couple of rounds a year for several years now ). And wherever else you go, it will be the same way.
It's a question of acceptance and preparation.
@a9 You’re right. At the end of the day it’s gonna be consumer business anyway, so why torture people with it?
I saw the European leaders basically straight-up say they’re looking to sell off the operations and professional services to a partner. So yeah, VBG is pretty much dead in my book. The plan now is just to keep the existing customers and contracts alive, that’s it.
IMO - Verizon should sell off the losing money products and portfolio in VBG
