The average age of employees grades 14-17 seems to have dropped by over 10 years since 2022 at least in Sekou’s org. Clearly driven by layoffs. We’ve seen what looks like blatant examples of age discrimination. Pushing an over 50 to a unique role, replacing with a 30 something, a year later eliminating the unique role. Thats pretty common. What’s the worst example you’ve seen of age discrimination?

GK’s appointment was driven more by the optics of diversity than by alignment with the bank’s core business needs.
JS has spent two decades inside the institution, built deep experience in its accounting and finance operations, and has served as CFO while regularly presenting to shareholders for over five years. Given that roughly 90% of the bank’s business is retail/commercial financial services, it is notable that GK’s professional background, primarily in consulting and custody banking (McKinsey, BNY Mellon, State Street), does not include meaningful experience in this area.
The decision was to prioritize appointing a female CEO of color at any cost—and the consequences of that approach are now evident.
Was a team of 5 all over 60 and they laid off tye entire team in that geo location
Being "emotional" is a sign of a lack of knowledge
Well I guess I am a TDS id--t
Being "emotional" is a sign of a lack of knowledge and intelligence. Letting your gut run your life is a poor plan. Plug the brain box in and educate yourself. No one needs someone "emotional" at work. Save the crying for home.
@er don't feed the trolls
I don't see any racism in this board. We need to do better though people.....tired of being accused of TDS....it's not TDS....I am just emotional.
Dunno about ageism but racism seems rampant on this thread. “abysmal performance” “gross mismanagement” Uff … them big words with not my ch substance. Many roads lead to Rome fellas. Not just what a white old dude thinks is right. Get on with the world.
The millennials at the bank need to understand, the is your future too. 50 and out at the bank. It's not too far away. Fortunately, you get to train your replacement.
I can't emphasize enough how awesome it is that Trump is our president for the next 3 full years
Do you all know what Andy had to do to RD to get his job? I mean come on, look at a picture of AC. Look closely and tell me you don't see it. You know what I mean.
@a9 GK is wholly unqualified for her role as evidenced by her abysmal performance this past year and her MC's almost criminal mismanagement of the bank. I believe it may be another decade before another woman OR a person of color is given the top job again.
Her actions come straight out of the McKinsey playbook. Overall disdain for GK has nothing to do with her gender or her ethnicity. Thanks to her gross incompetence, it will be a long time before employee morale, consumer trust, brand respect, and our stock price recovers with her at the helm.
@a4 I'm not the one that said that but... Fine... She got there through flagrant sociopathy then. Whatever the case is she's an awful leader & is destroying the company.
That’s not true. GK is a smart woman. I don’t always agree with her approach or find her easy to work for. Please don’t jump to conclusions or imply a woman got to a top role by sleeping with someone.
come on man where you been at? They use RIF’s to get rid of DEI and Senior Citizen's.
What I want to know is, who did GK fu-k to get the CEO Job. She’s d-mber than a hog
