Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

TR was the worst mistake of my career

Joined TR was promised growth opportunities. Came here and it’s nothing but chasing a carrot on a stick. Manager kept saying visibility etc but I felt like that was just an excuse to make me do more work. I have the work of a Lead but do not have the title or pay.

On top of this there is no internal mobility because guess what’s the cherry on top of the cake? They offshored 90 percent of jobs in my org for roles I’d consider because it’s cheaper! Thanks TR! Oh on top of this annual layoffs!

Same. I used to try to go above and beyond so I could get the promotion they kept waving in front of me. Now I do my job duties and my job duties only. My effort is put into my own passions and hustles, so hopefully I can hustle right on out of here soon. I cannot wait for an exit interview!

I waited for that internal mobility opportunity that never came. I left. It wasn’t easy because the market now is sh*t. But I did it. Only after I was out did I realize how toxic work environment at TR was. Like a huge wave of anxiety left my body. I love my job now. It’s possible.
