Interestingly enough, we got an email from Sampath on July 17th encouraging us to email him at s.sampath@verizon.com I did today and the email address doesn't exist. I tried every possible combination of his first/last, all rejected with "user not found." So much for customer service.

This all smacks of, we couldn't find someone from our bench to take over so we had to pull in someone from the board. It all really points to Stratton who was passed over for Hans and went to run Frontier. I suspect he'll be the one taking over once the desk is done and Hans is actually gone in October of next year.

It will really be a big F U from Stratton if it happens that way

I hope Sampath goes. Offshoring seems to have accelerated with him around.

Dan Schulman is very woke (no joke). You know what they say about "go woke, go broke!"

Even if this is right at least it pushes Sampath’s inevitability horrific CEO run out a couple years. I’m just glad he didn’t get it this time.

Sampath??!! What have he done for the VCG? Vz will be flushed to the drain if he becomes the ceo. If Verrizon is my company, I’ll not gamble/risk Verizon under him.

@a9

I have been thinking the same thing, John Stratton is totally going to be CEO after merger.

More like John Stratton is coming back and bringing back the old #1 Verizon

Sampath is DEI…he has to go. We should only have American born experienced executives running Verizon. We support the government and should not jeopardize this relationship

Sampath is the sole Executive at Verizon that will be retained. The remaining Executive Team was built in D.E.I. /Noah Ark fashion.. one of each.

Meritocracy is a cornerstone of I dian Cture and is the heritage of Verizon legacy!

Dan needs to perform the Reduction of employees based on merit…to many DEI employees focused on leveraging social issues verus bringing value to the Customer.

First move… everyone get your As! Back to office 5 days a week!

You are correct!

Maybe.. plausible. Strange that it's effective day of the announcement. Dan is effectively an insider.. been on the board a long time, lead director even. Unless he was serially outvoted or neglected his job.. he signed off on everything Hans and VZ have done at the board level over the past 7 years. Either way, now comes the executive shuffle as he evaluates who he wants in his top C suite positions and potentially deeper in the business. Expect more "retirements" soon (0-3 months) and start jan 2026 fresh.
