Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

For those of you who left Cigna on your own, do you ever regret it?

I’m seeing so many people around me planning their exit and talking about how much better it’ll be on the outside, but I keep thinking about the unknowns. Did leaving actually make things better for you, or did you find out later that the grass wasn’t greener?

No regrets. Not even a little. Best decision that I made for my career. It’s better elsewhere.

@ah it will be in chaos for a while for sure! Less than 1 year? 1-2 years? more than 2 years? Who knows ?

I miss the convenience of lunches at the cafeteria (and buffalo chicken day) and my friendly coworkers.

Cigna won’t be in the current chaotic situation forever. Things are changing for better in some areas. For most of us choosing to stay, The best has yet to come.

@a9 Thanks for a very wise advice! “focus less on what you’re escaping and more on what you’re moving toward”

No regrets whatsoever! Look, every job will have it BS. You need to figure out what BS you’re willing to put up with. Cigna was just too toxic and my mental health was garbage while there and was only getting worse every day.

I left Cigna earlier this year. It wasn’t easy after being there 17 years, but I don’t regret it.

Transition presents some challenges, but that where growth is. A new role didn’t fix everything, but it did give me new perspective and momentum I didn’t have before.

If you are thinking of leaving, focus less on what you’re escaping and more on what you’re moving toward. That mindset helped me the most.

Good luck!
