Vacation Time Being Cut

Max cap being cut from 150% to 125% so they can take that off the balance sheet and not have to pay out that additional time when we're all RIFd.

WFH is like vacation so haven’t had a need to officially use vacation days. Guess I’ll take the 25% vacation in 4th quarter. See you in 2027.

@af Me too on VSP + my 6 weeks x 175%. Glad I walked away because the writing was on the wall for several years.

Spin this change anyway you want, this is about VZ and not YOU.

For my former colleagues, its going to continue get worse before it gets better. Give these tone deaf loser senior leaders the bare minimum. Don't do what I did, which was 10+ hour days, cancelled vacations, weekend work, never took sick time, etc.

@a9 Lemme guess - you're in the C-Suite with that big brain of yours, right?

This is a nothing burger. Are you guys just glued to your work chair and never taking PTO?

@ad time to grow i guess. Negative impact?? Exactly how unless you are a die hard employee that never takes a vacation day. Your choice to work and not take a day off.

I'm a conservative, but don't suffer from a mental crisis over a nothing burger. I assume you are a grown adult.... so maybe act like one?

Glad I took VSP and got my full payout of vacation at 175% cap! The 3 weeks per year of service was great too. My inept leadership made it an easy decision to walk away. The amount of laziness and grift with no repressions was also intolerable after so many years. Horrible leaders from top to bottom at Verizon.

Big deal. You should be more worried about the company reducing the actual amount of vacation time awarded to employees or even worse, if the company reduces or removes the separation pay benefit.

It is a cost cut. Most respectful companies allow 150pct carryover. This is strictly cost management. What a shell of a company.

Gawd the liberal hacks are at it again.

Vacation time is NOT being cut, just the amount you are allowed to carry over to the following year. Literally nothing else is changing.

On the other hand, more cash they save to keep people and lay off less. Wishful thinking, I know.

But, but, but..... they said it's to encourage us to take regular time off throughout the year!
