Rumor has it that leadership and HR are pushing for people to have the Career Story section filled out in MyGPS.
Given very recent RIFs and restructured, this feels very unsettling. Anyone here experiencing this and/or have an insight to why this is?

Offshore leadership (and their onshore counterparts) want to remove the knowledge/talent from onshore to limit any possibility of re-shoring.
That is why talent/knowledge is RIFd or pushed out.
@a8 100%. The sr leadership in my department have no background working gor a heath plan before being hired in their current sr leadership position.
@a8 tumbling down? Lol.
The company isn't going anywhere... People maybe, but the company, nope.
This place is run by clueless high school graduates who think a LinkedIn Learning certificate is a substitute for college. Those with real college degrees rarely get promoted and are always the first in line for a reduction in force. The nepotism and incompetence is unbelievable. Just keep promoting the mo--ns. Why would any qualified person write a Career Story? It gets you nowhere.
MyGPS is just the latest gimmick from HR. From an employee's perspective it is only useful if your manager values your work and wants to advocate on your behalf. If not, various components can actually be used against you.
They do that every year and at the end ypy will be canned anyway.
@a8 And on top of that, the people getting laid off are the ones who have all the actual knowledge of how to do the job and the client and the products etc.
We are losing the people of knowledge and experience, and replacing them with high school graduates from other countries.
I think the house of cards has come tumbling down. Hiring family and friends has created a leadership bubble filled with clueless higher ups who don't do the work or understand any of it. Those who have the most knowledge and experience aren't the ones making the big decisions at the top, and the useless degree crowd at the top aren't held accountable. This was always unsustainable. Unfortunately, the hard workers pay the price for inept leadership.
Yes it is used for redeployment planning.
