Only working 2 days this week due to pto. I will be 20 minutes short of the in office expectations. I know days average out over time but if I worked more than 8 hours last week, will that cover me?

the reporting is a 4 week rolling average. hours on individual days or weeks are not visible to managers. if you have a little more one day or week, a little less another, it all averages out.
I almost logged in on a non work day last week to take care of something that would have taken about 1 hour - but I didn’t do it because I was worried it would mess up my average.
You guys work for psychopaths if they literally care about 8 exact hours. This is not an issue across the bank and the big flag is consistently AVERAGING under 7.
@b6 maybe if you or they work in the same location as the one doing the talking.
But reports wise.. no.
You are more than good, it is significantly less than 8hrs avg that keeps you off the report. Anyone saying otherwise is being told that by the manager personally. Worst case send you manager an email and you'll be fine.
This is coming from someone who had an executive tell them what todo to stay off the report as I am the only one in his tree when he visited and had a 3 level up 1 on 1.
@a8 not true. Although I do believe missing twenty mins is totally fine for this person. You telling people 7 hours is ok is wrong my co worker just got a talking to about averaging 7.5 hours.
I've averaged a little under 8 hours since they rolled this out and so far nobody has said anything.
Shocking that folks has to expend thought and energy working about in office hours when the same could be applied to constructive activities benefiting the bank. What's next? Dr-g testing? Polygraphs? Total sh-tshow and free-rides for managers.
One offs do not matter over a 13 week period. They are looking for patterns of abusers.
I got a talking to for a couple days at 7 hours over a 30 day view. I didnt know I could work extra to make up for it, so will do that from now on. This is asinine, but hey I still have a job so I should be grateful?
For what it's worth the cutoff is not 8 hours where you get flagged. They're being cute about communicating the actual cutoff, but I've had weeks where I was 10-20 minutes shy of 8 hours on most days and didn't hear a peep about it from my manager. I really wouldn't stress over it, you're unlikely to hear anything, and if you do its unlikely to be a problem unless you are consistently short, not short one week
@a6 I know! My severance will be coming the future-just afraid to risk losing it over 20 minutes lol
I too hate that it’s come to this.
Anything over 7 hours is fine
You’re fine. It’s a rolling average.
So sad that this company has turned into a state where people have to be concerned about 20 minutes. I was laid off in the fall. Upset at the time luckily I had been there for 25 years so I had good severance. I promise you there is better out there where you are treated like adults.
So the week will just be short and the other weeks can’t average with it. I didn’t work over the other days this week.
Its a weekly average.
