Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

VRP and 2025 Bonus

So, we need to confirm our participation in the VRP before 2025 bonus amounts are decided.

Seems to me that a manager would want to minimize bonus amounts for soon-to-retire employees and bolster those who will remain on.

Does anyone have any insight on how this is handled?

Anyone want to say what their annual bonuses usually are @ Cigna?

@a8 prorated. They are based off of stock performance which was bad last year. Expect less bonus this year.

Others get more? Depending on band level?

Bonuses are based on Cigna’s KPIs and the last ones I saw are on target except for finances which are usually over target. So, the funding should be at least 100%. They have the other KPIs, so the average is lower and bonus payouts are lower. Future pressure should not affect the funding, since the calculation is based on 2025 results. We shall see.

@a2 1/23 is the date. 10 days to make a decision. Some folks get 2 wks per year others go more.

I would wait until the last minute to confirm I was taking VRP. Don't give them a reason to sc--w you on bonus because you're choosing to leave.

We’ve been told not to anticipate much, not a good sign. And after a year that essentially anyone still here working on a team with multiple resignations and layoffs and firings, despite working the job of multiple of our unreplaced peers- that’s a kick in the face. Who’s to blame though, we’re all still here, did we really expect anything different? My goal is not to be in this he-l home this time next year, and if I am, than I deserve whatever scraps they throw me. When people tell you who they are, relieve them. There’s a reason only the yes men leaders remain.

The bonus information is due 1/20 and each manager has a set amount of money for their team. Obviously amounts can change as it goes up the chain. There are job eliminations coming too, just not sure on timing.

@a6 No wonder people on my team and manager are acting weird lately.

That's not how it works. The reason they need to know is that each team gets a pot of money. If your in the mix money is different than when you are not.

@a2 The final bonus numbers are never truly "final" until early February - many eyes see the recommendations before submission to the C-suite so things can most definitely be changed based on who has elected to take the VRP.

@a8

According to the FAQ:

"If you are eligible for a bonus for the 2025 calendar year, it will be determined through the Annual Compensation Planning process and follow the normal bonus payout schedule in March 2026"

This time around is the bonus going to be “full” or prorated? It was prorated last time but that was only about half a year at that point…..

A negative vote for asking a question? OK then...

I believe the deadline is 1/23. Sounds like holding cards close to the vest until then may be the way to go.

Don’t eligible employees have until the end of January to decide if they’re taking the VRP? The compensation planning process occurs the week of 1/19. So I think the bonus decisions will already be done before the full impact of VRP is known.
