Heard from a reliable source that another RIF will happen in a few months so it checks out with Q1 rumors.
Remember cowboy Dan practically said it would be a way of life.
Not surprised, it’s the employer’s market right now, always can bring people back if necessary. Also, perfect opportunity to get people quitting on their own (and save on severance pay) by cutting back on pay and benefits. When it comes to being “scrappy”, Dan is not kidding around.
Don’t forget … RTO 5 days a week?!?
@ad when the vacation rollover decreased from 175% - 150%. That was the tea leaf of 2026 layoffs. So this employee saw the writing on the wall for 2026. It’s not for us to use more time, it’s to lighten the load they pay out in q1. The one we are on the eve of is regime change making a name for itself.
My SD told us more RIFs are already being discussed for Q1. He didn't say March specifically but seems there's definitely more coming, and relatively soon.
I def heard the package will be less attractive next go round from a credible source.
Fake without proof.
Why would anyone doubt this? Two or three months ago how many of you would have agreed that the company would do a 15,000 head layoff all at once? There will definitely be changes in either/and severance, bonus, merit, stock together and of course there will be more RIFs. Pull your head out of your butt and be prepared if you survive this one.
If this is true, then I think I might actually be glad that I’m getting laid off tomorrow. Sounds like the package is going to only get worse in the coming months.
@a8 nope, I'm not
I don’t know about the other stuff, but I did hear about another layoff happening in March 2026
Heard the same thing 1998, 2005, 2010, 2018, after the VSPin 2019… never happened.
@a5 Youre probably the OP responding lol
Too soon
You using a magic 8-ball? 😂🤡
@a2 not a troll. I heard the same except for the bonuses, but I wouldn't be shocked. Also heard BPI may be eliminated.
This is typical corporate America people. I went through several RIDs with other companies and this is the way it goes. They reduce bonuses (or take them away completely), reduce the amount of severance (either amount or per year service), and the layoffs continue.
I am very surprised that Verizon is offering such "good" terms.
Dan, Dan, the hatchet man, if he can't lay you off, nobody can.

How do you know this?
