Let's say you're layed off with 8 years, do you get 4 months+2 months of non-working notice or 2 months + 2 months of non-working notice as severerance?

@ba No wonder some of you are getting laid off. You don't know how to RTFM, you probably weren't capable of doing your jobs either.
@ba at least we don't need to ask for directions to do it.
@a8 thanks, and for all you with the snarky comments, shove it up where the sun don't shine.
it's almost like there isn't documentation that spells this all out. if you didn't get it, why do you care?
sigh

you get 60 days of notice (90 if in NY) and that can be non working or working. You are still an employee, and you are not on severance.
once your notice period is over, you start severance. so after your 60 or 90 days, you would get 16 weeks of severance for 8 years of service. they are consecutive and not related to each other.
