OP here. Honestly, I don’t trust my manager. She has failed me enough times in the last 5 years. In a perfect world, I would love to chat with them about it and get aligned.
I broke a bone in my driving arm and she expected me to come into the office and withheld filing for medical leave. Then I had to elevate to HR and State of Oregon.

You should seriously consider talking to your manager about this. That’s what they’re there for. Don’t listen to any of the hate here. There are all sorts of accommodations that can be made during a hardship.

@ag With a 20yo car, and avg 14mpg ciy/hwy and a 15 gallon tank. It requires about a tank of gas a week (4 days). So about 70 or more a week. if I drive my pickup it gets 9 mpg and has a 25g tank.
