@by Seems like a lot of hubris went into a series of bad decisions. Through d-mb luck TGT was well positioned to capitalized on the COVID lockdowns. As things have returned to normal they have messed up at every step, alienating the conservatives with tuckable kids swimsuits and the progressives with a badly communicated end to DEI hiring policies. All the while pi----g of the middle by simply not being able to keep the shelves stocked. It's hard to want to go to Target when you know you'll have to stop at a second store anyway, because they will be out of an item that they actually carry, and not a strange item, but an every day item like pasta...
@a8 a communications failure of their own making. It’ll be studied as “what not to do” in classes for years to come. Stunningly bad moves over and over again from the comms team.
this is inaccurate. this was fulfilled 2 years ago
@ak other than the massive boycott by the African American community sinking target sales and stock? Oh nothing. Not like the stock took a nosedive as soon as the boycott started or anything…
@a7 What does any of this have to do with the African American Community? How is that even relevant?
@a8 yep. Firing people before the holidays won’t help that image too much either lol
@a7 I've already seen some of that today. I like to point out that TGT did a great job irritating both sides of the spectrum, really sort of a master class in what not to do!
@OP how long before this gets posted onto the anti target movement website and Facebook page? I can see it now. “Target chooses to fire employees rather than fulfill their commitments to the African American community”
I guess we made one top list...
Not a good one but still a top list...
