All those posts reporting bl oo d baths
All the hysteria
1000 cuts is SOP
The real issue moving forward is RTO less flexibility. How will we be punished if we can’t make it in due to extraneous circumstances?
I heard many ppl complaining this week is there truth to the rumors that they may tweak it? Or is that just wishful thinking?

@OP with all due respect, please shut up re: SOP/blood bath. The worry, the chaos is all from lack of transparency from leadership. The only communication this company made was to the media, not employees. Some spaces were heavily hit and there is a lot of uncertainty in how to move forward. And it feels like this is just getting started.
OK, I am assuming you are aware of what the company is and have some historical context. With that said, claiming that “only 1K” were sacked is puzzling, at best.
This is massive, impactful, and newsworthy for any organization, regardless of size. Maybe, with layoffs happening across the country, we have become desensitized to the point of being unfazed unless a 20K cut is disclosed.
It is a very sad state of affairs if we, as a nation, have reached that point.
@ag a9 here. this might be true but not always. I was in reorgs in 2018 with layoffs where we didn't have flash calls with the entire department/unit, only our affected team
@a6 And what's your evidence that it was more than 1000 people? Exaggerations and hyperbole like this cause far more harm than good.
@a9 Flash calls are standard procedure. If your area loses a single person, they're going to have a flash call to inform your area that in fact a RIF of some kind took place and provide context. This is normal everywhere.
The impact is big enough they're scheduling flash calls with affected units. The call I attended had over 500 people, why would you need to tell 500+ people only a handful of their friends are leaving? Normally it's very hush hush— it's still hush hush but they realize they've opened a can of worms
I personally believe they are actually doing a much, much bigger layoff but executing in phases between now and September to avoid mass exodus.
@a4 possible you just aren’t very good at your job?
Maybe it didn’t affect your area but my area was hugely impacted. It was definitely more than 1000 people. This feel really flippant to the people laid off yesterday…
The easiest people to lay off in the next wave will be lack of attendance
As someone who got no bonus in 2025 because I worked from home when my kids were sick or I was sick, and didn't get a warning until 10 months into the performance year, I'm expecting HR to be purposefully vague with their communication then just sc--w people over at bonus time. Good luck to all of us having to be in office every day with zero flexibility.
