I had 30 years when I left in Sept 2024. The PPO plan is $22,000 a year for 2026.
Yes if you qualify for the subsidy, but it's not much. Go to NetBenefits and look for the Management Retiree Subsidy Medical SPD. It will outline if and how much of a subsidy you are eligible for based on your years of service (+18 months) as of June 30,2006. That subsidy is against the 2007 costs of the target plan. So, what does that tell you? As an example, when I left several years ago, I had a 60% subsidy. I was on the EPN plan and was paying over 2200/month for my spouse and myself. You are better off going to the ACA. I was close to Medicare at the time, so I bit the bullet.
You should have some pension money, call benefits
@OP you loose half your phone discount unless you're a manager, do you think you would even get a returned call
Already asked Vz HR about this same topic. Vz “retiree” healthcare coverage runs about $2k a month. Family $4k per month. No joke.
@a6 what is average monthly cost as a retiree with the discount for a single person
No, but enjoy your whopping 25% off the phone bill.
You do get a discount but Medicare is still cheaper, keep in mind the retiree medical subsidy thay give you as mgt was frozen at 2006 medical costs
@a1 man after working that long one would think a company as big as Verizon could give retirees a discount on heath insurance at least
@OP no , not at all , you can take cobra for 18 months total , or Verizon retiree benefits , hard to see any discount there, they are very expensive . The only discount is Davis vision for free as a retiree . If you take cobra you forfeit any retirees perks
