Just curious if anyone has rough numbers on how many people are in each level from 4 to 9 at headquarters. I imagine some pyramids are heavier in 4s than others and so on.
If sources are saying 1000 actual people will be cut plus roughly 800 open roles, and levels 6-8 will be most impacted, how many 6 to 8s are there to even be cut in the first place?
It’s not that there are 800 roles open right now.. it’s more that as roles have been vacated (resignation, promotion, etc) they have not been backfilling them for months already.
@a7 this. And I think the majority of those roles are people who left over time and they were waiting to decide what to do about them. Now the won’t be filled.
@a6 they may have already removed some of the postings prior to the announcement and/or not had them posted outside of the internal site. My guess is they had just removed them in-advance of the announcement.
I'm confused by the 800 open roles and where that number is coming from. When I checked yesterday there aren't even 200 open roles across US/India HQ. Idk about other global offices but I imagine it wouldn't be any more than that. I also dont see them counting open field roles in that number based on the email.
This is just my two cents but our direct team is 9 folks. Of that contingent, five are L4-l5, and the remaining four are L6-L7. Previous teams I had been on had fairly similar breakouts, and those teams were across a total of three pyramids.
Also worth noting if manager level (L6+) is impacted at 3x rate, it should be ~750 L6+ roles and ~250 L5 or below.
Star Tribune said managers and up will be 3x as affected as individual contributors.
