Unfortunately those impacted will likely be the team members who actually do the work. As a former Target HQ employee of more than a decade, I can tell you to look at SVPs, VPs, and Sr Directors who have no investment in the team in Minneapolis and no interest in returning to the office despite what they expect of their working teams. They are where the culture and the ROI breaks down but it will likely be the doers that pay the price for their leaders lack of clear strategy, general disrespect for the Target team, and disconnect from the Target consumer. Tip for Target, clean house at your leader level and watch your working teams thrive again.

@ab they didn’t leave leaders unscathed. A ton of team leads, managers, and group managers (titles at the time) were laid off.
@a6 I’m surprised they are actually impacting the mid- level leaders this time. With the RIF ten years ago, they just carved out certain support levels and below and anyone who had less than stellar annual reviews but they left leaders (with the exception of Target Canada) unscathed.
Disregarding that insane post below… this post is completely contrarian to everything that has been shared so far and what we already know to be true about VPs and SVPs already being let go. There were several today.
@a1 your toxic racism has no room in Minnesota go away
@a1 they already lay off US based employees and backfill their roles to Target India.
Keep track of how many H1Bs are laid off, and what the demographics are of the layoff. Check LinkedIn and gather statistics on whether this is yet another corporate purge of white minnesotans while they import more labor.
